EDITORIAL
My computer was Y2K compliant when I prepared this edition of the newsletter, but I certainly was not. It gave me a real "tick" when I started writing 2000 in the masthead and elsewhere. This month's lead article is Part One of a brief history of the VBCG prepared by Bud Greenlees who is one of the 1979 charter members and has been a super-member who has contributed immensely to the group. The current members who have come on board recently should find this history interesting as to how the group grew since the days that a standard DOS did not even exist. Jean Grider continues to provide us with helpful "stuff", if you "didn't already know that". _________________________ Board and Officers The VBCG officers for 2000 are: President - Jack Pirozzolo Vice Pres. - Jean Grider Treasurer - Joan Pannenborg Secretary. - Doris Hall Directors will be the above officers and the following from membership: Joe Fredlock ex-officio, Anne Fredlock, Bud Greenlees, Sherman Reed, Paul Tardif, and John McHale. The Vice President is responsible for the monthly meeting programs. If you have a suggestion about such programs contact Jean Grider ._____________________________ VOLUNTEERS SERVE LIBRARY
By Sherman Reed, Staff Writer
VBCG members Thomas Chadwick, Charles Ernst, and Tom Nadig provided valuable help to the public library during December. They helped members of the public from 2-4pm on six days to use library computers. The VBCG membership thanks these caring and helpful volunteers. If you would like to serve as one of the Club volunteers helping persons use the library computers, please contact Sherman Reed, at 562-2003. New helpers would be scheduled with a experienced helper for two hours to learn the setup and then serve a few hours per month.
