Vero Beach Computer Group Board Meeting
December 21, 2000

The meeting was brought to order by President, Jean Grider at 3:10 P.M. with eight people in attendance. The
Minutes of the November 21, 2000 meeting were approved as published in the VBCG newsletter.

Treasurer's Report: Joan Pannenborg reported the balance as of December 18, 2000 was $2108.62. The net
Income was
$745.00. The Treasurer prepared a projected budget for the year 2001 which included the expenses
connected with the VBCG meeting at Christ-by-the-Sea Methodist Church for the entire year. Since VBCG will be
able to continue using the library for up to four month, the projected budget will be less than the anticipated
$5902.90. The Treasurer will make the adjustments. The paperwork has been done and filed. VBGC is now in-
corporated as a
not-for-profit corporation by the state of Florida.
A BIG THANK YOU TO JOAN PANNENBORG FOR HER EFFORT!!!!

The VBCG Board voted to pay our annual dues of $25.00 to the Florida Association of Computer Users.
Jean Pannenborg, Treasurer, reported that she has sent in all the paperwork plus several letters for the
$40.00 rebate for a the Acerb scanner that VBCG purchased in June, 2000. As of this date she has had no
results. She said that she would continue her efforts.
Special Interest Groups:
The SIG's have gotten very large and almost unmanageable. We are using the large meeting room for some
of the SIG meetings and the Terrace Room is too small. At some of the SIGs there have been over one hundred in attendance and 50% have
not been members. The board felt that the purpose of the these Special Interest Group should be defined. The purpose should be for the benefit of the members. When we advertise in the newspaper, we did get three or four attendees to become members. Perhaps if we advertise the Special Interest Groups only in the newsletter, the members would get the benefit. The general meeting and the benefits of membership could be advertised in the newspaper.
By-laws:
There was a discussion concerning the revised by-laws and details that need more thought. The fact that we
have become incorporated has simplified things somewhat: especially Article VIII, Section 8.1 INDEMNIFICATION.
It was moved and seconded that the dues be increase to
$20.00 per person and to change our name to Vero
Beach Computer Group, Inc. It was decided to vote in February on these
two  by-laws changes (to the December,
1995 by-laws) after notifying the members the Vero Beach Computer Group in the January Newsletter.
Membership
Art Paris has compiled the roster and it will be mailed in this newsletter. New members will be published in the
newsletter each month. Mr. Paris reported that we have 323 members. He reported that 42 members need to
renew their membership.
THANK YOU, ART PARIS FOR AN EXCELLENT JOB ON THE 2001 ROSTER!!!!

The next board meeting of VBCG will be on January 25, 2001 @ 5:30 PM.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 PM.
                                                                                                                Respectfully submitted,
                                                                                                                Doris Hall, Secretary
