The VBCG started the IRSC Scholarship in 2005.  The first scholarship was given in memory of Bud Greenlees, a founding member of the organization, who passed away on February 10, 2004.

The scholarship is given to a student attending Indian River Community College and is learning about computers and computer science.  The scholarship is provided by the VBCG and the recipient is chosen by the IRSC Scholarship Committee  This year's scholarship was in the amount of $2500 and the recipient was Beth Wytrval.
